The ongoing pandemic has forced sweeping changes in lifestyles, especially for children. Childhood is an important and precious phase of everyone's life. These early moments of everyone's lives are essential to reach their full potential.
Early ages of 0-8 years of a child are the most extraordinary period of growth and development in a child's lifetime. All learning foundations are laid during these years. If the foundations are right, they carry huge future benefits: better understanding in school and higher educational attainment, which results in bigger social and economic gains for society as a whole.
Over 43% of under-five children are at risk of not fulfilling their full developmental potential in India. Also, our country accounts for one-fifth of under-five mortality and a quarter of neonatal deaths globally. Although slightly over 70 per cent of children attend pre-primary education, there are critical gaps in the quality of their education, which also implies that nearly 20 million of most disadvantaged children are left out of preschool, with the worst impacts on their survival, growth and development.
The government of India has established Anganwadi centres to provide opportunities for children of underprivileged sectors to grow and develop, to combat child hunger and malnutrition.
The Humanity Welfare Council has initiated Project PHULWARI, which emphasizes the overall development of children at Anganwadi centres. These centres play an important role in the upliftment of children belonging to weaker and depressed classes of society. We act as a pillar for these centres bringing modernization through digitalization.
Investing in HWC is one of the most cost-efficient and powerful strategies to achieve equitable and sustainable development.
Children who are nurtured and well cared for are more likely to develop fully cognitive, language, emotional and social skills; they grow up healthier, and have higher self-esteem. Each of these aspects is essential for our well-being as adults; our experiences in early childhood truly shape who we ultimately become.
Project PHULWARI also assists in child nourishment and development. We are here to ensure that every child will be given proper care in a harmonious atmosphere where they will get sufficient opportunities and dexterities for the improved education system, guidance, mentoring, and training for their overall development to become good future citizens of India.
The Humanity Welfare Council is trying to diminish the gap between the wealthy and the poor, and bring everyone at the same pace. We are focusing on certain reforms to transform the Anganwadi:
Mission
To provide proper nourishment, growth opportunities and a safe environment for every child in India.
Vision
To provide every child with equal access to proper nutrition and other growth factors.
